In addition to the clean, friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and its work with area non-profits to serve the neediest in the community, they have a huge Free Bin filled with clothes and shoes that people in need can go through during store hrs. Everyone treated with respect and kindness.
I've shopped at the Bargain Box since they opened in 2000 or 2001, and have found wonderful designer label items for far less new. They're a little higher than other boutique consignment stores, but what most folks don't know is that they train and pay all staff, give free Bargain Bucks to social agencies to give to their clients who need clothing and household items, and also give grants to other non profits. It's a huge network of services that I'm pleased to support when I buy something there.
This is the most over-priced "thrift" store in Wilmington. They are stuffed to the gills because everything is priced too high. Even when it's 1/2 off, it's too high. The place has a "hoarding" atmosphere. They have a room that has to be unlocked to enter where they have someone's idea of "designer" items. Who are their customers? Certainly not the neighboring communities they supposedly serve. It's time to update the store on all fronts.
Plus sizes limited for women but decent male selection. Each item is re measured before being listed in case tailoring had been done. Very organized and fair pricing from what I saw. Will definitely return. Friendly staff.
Very attractive, clean, well-organized. Items priced fairly. The Box Office contains the high end clothing. They've given back over $100,000 to local charities and given away 87 tons of clothing.

Has the atmosphere, and the prices, of a boutique store. Many, many rooms make it maze like and a bit overwhelming at first. The prices were kind of unbelievable. Run of the mill purses averaged $14! However, back in the vintage room I found a large, red, patent leather, envelope clutch for only $2.50. There are bargains in there, you just need to hunt for them.
Nice clothes & household items that are very well presented. Probably the most expensive of the area thrift shops, but you feel like you are shopping in a nice store, so may feel like the items are worth it. Advice: ignore atmosphere & go to Habitat Homestore or Vintage Values for even more of a bargain!
