Use to shop here. They use to do good work with individuals in addictions recovery in their program letting them volunteer at their thrift store. Now they are teaching them how to Hide upscale items in the back for friends to sort through before they are put on the floor for sale.
I love this store! It is hard to find- turn in at the Teriyaki place. The houseware items don't change as often as Goodwill, but the mugs are all .50 and saucers the same. A great organization to help people. They always have popcorn for just .25 a bag, I think! I have thought the furniture very reasonable and more selection than Goodwill.
We jokingly call this store Teriyaki Thrift since it sits behind a small Teriyaki shop. The store is pretty large, but we thought we might be in the wrong place when we saw the prices on furniture when we walked in the door. A small, slightly dinged up end table was tagged at $50. Then there was this dinette set, retro style with green clear molded plastic backs for $300. We were shocked! Turns out that everything is 1/2 price every day which begs the question, "Why?" Do they think it makes them look like they're generous for making such great deals? I found it vaguely offensive. What I found very offensive was their book department. There were 5 categories. Christian Studies, World History, Children, Male Authors, & Female Authors. ?!?! Have you ever seen a library, book store, or other thrift store that by passes most genres and simply shelves by the authors gender? Though I did find it funny that Billy Graham was shelved under Female Authors. Oh! And the only books I saw under World History was a half dozen bibles. As for the rest of the store, we didn't bother looking at clothes, but none of the knick-knacks, kitchen gadgets, dishes, etc had price tags at all, but rest assured, they're half price!
Extremely helpful & friendly staff, most are in recovery from drugs & alcohol. Every item in the store over $1.00 is half off, always! Shoes can be priced a bit high, clothes are very reasonable!
