Best new find with the Union Mission! With discount days throughout the month, you're more than able to score some exceptional deals. Not very many thrift stores have specials for Seniors/Military/Teachers/Students. So, make sure you pick up the calendar for the month to see which day offers the best applicable deals. Additionally, I enjoy the Hymns/Inspirational/Gospel music that is played. Often times at other thrift stores blaring rock music is over the top loud and is annoying. This is a faith-based organization, so they have the right to play encouraging and uplifting music in their stores. Furthermore, I'm also glad that 100% of proceeds go back into the ministry. Likewise, as far as the customer service; each time we've gone, the staff are more than helpful. It should be noted that many faith-based thrift stores employ undomiciled men and women who are residents of their shelter. They receive training and mentorship whilst working at these stores. I don't say this as an excuse for poor behavior. However, personally I've never had any rude service. It goes to say that some people in transition may be going through a rough time, so we as customers can always brighten someone else's day too. Pay it forward! (Read More)

Dubbed "Most Unique Thrift Store" in Virginia Beach! If you like thrifting, they have so much to look through. From an 1880's gold sluice, vintage dresses, and historical memorabilia to everyday item like dishes, trinkets and the like. Awesome clothing labels at great prices. And they have the CUTEST chihuahua that hangs out in a shopping cart waiting for customers to give him a ride! Definitely a must if you are in the area and if you live in Hampton Roads, a great spot for your regular rounds! All this and they help the homeless! I love this store! (Read More)
