I have been going to GW for over 10 years and see managers come and go; at one time, the store was an absolute mess. They had tons of clothing (donations) stacked up the wall by the cashier's registers and the place was rather dirty. Mgmt. changed and brought in "Rene" who straighten out the store's layout and came down on the staff to get the place shapped up. She was an extremely hard worker, along with staff, and left after 4 or so years as I am sure there was a burn-out factor. Great bargains to find; the basement has lots of household items, books, tapes, are very nearly organized along with holiday items. The womens pants section could use better lighting as it is impossible to see back there. You can find some great deals for great prices and senior discounts are offered on Tuesdays I think but definitely once a week. Just be patient, kind and you will find something to purchase. New items are in the front of the store to the right of the registers - new coats, etc.
For a donation-based thrift store, this location is clean. There is a good selection of items and the children's clothes are priced great. However, I found several like new Hannah Anderson dresses that I couldn't buy because their tag system puts holes in the clothes. Big holes. It is a shame that they ruin these great clothes. They need to put the labels through the clothing label to avoid damaging them.
Like all thrift stores, this one is hit or miss. Good selection of children's clothing - can find some quality name brands. I had to give it LOW marks on cleanliness primarily because I once horrible found a pile of human poo on the floor in the basement. Enough said, perhaps too much even.
Don't listen to the negative reviews. They are from people who have nothing better to do other than consume and complain. It's not a clubhouse fools it's a store. Woe is you. Go shop somewhere else. The store is great. Nice management, nice staff, great music and plenty of baragains. I give it an a++.
WAS a great shop when Wayne managed. Since this new broad took over, the soul was sucked out of this place. No more perusing the racks. She put an end to that. I went back a week ago and the place was lacking the original excitement. Goes to show what happens when somebody tries to re-invent the wheel. Leave well enough alone, woman!!
