I enjoyed shopping at this store. I really liked the 50% off sale of a particular color for the month. The prices were fair on most items. I did find some disparity. I gave a four on the cleanliness only because the area outside the store (the barn) could be more organized. Overall, I will shop at this store any time I visit the area.
The volunteers are extremely sweet and kind as well. I'm never greeted with less than a smile and exchange of conversation about my visit and how well I found what I needed. The most helpful is when I've forgotten about the discount according to which day it is and or what color tag is that's the sale of the day. I've found many gifts, toys, glassware, artwork, clothing and children's items over the years. The prices are hit and miss, sometimes items are priced reasonable or maybe discounted and other times I've over paid when an item is vintage and or somewhat collectible. Ebay is a guideline which crrc apparently uses to find prices and validate their overpricing. The store is completely sourced by donation and does help people in the community as well, that being such a needed and great thing. My only concern is that of the condition of any items over priced And comparatively priced by the same items sold on ebay or online. When collectible or a desired antique and rare piece, it's realistic to price accordingly even if items are plentiful and sought after. In my opinion however I feel as if items are often priced and held to the high level comparison as are sold on Ebay and Etsy. There are plenty of examples of mint condition collectibles and rare and hard to find items. If these things aren't in the type of condition and they are donated it's gauging the customer to charge collectors, perfect condition, original packaging, never opened or used prices. The manager on staff should be more professional, there are several volunteer workers I see regularly that are not just helpful and kind but informational as well as professional in manner. I love the store so much I keep going back but if any one thing would deter me it would be a manager who is loud and rude to workers and has no regard for inappropriate comments and attitude towards everyone customer or volunteer working in or about tha property. I'm guessing the store does pretty well and I'm super thankful it's there, I've told countless people about it. I'm happy to take any of my family to shop here or tell anyone visiting town or staying at my home. I'm embarrassed by the behavior and gossipy meanness I've heard loudly while I'm shopping. There's been several times even so offensive to me that I left completely appalled. I'm hoping there are many who benefit from and enjoy the wonderful finds and neat things this town brings to donate at the CRRC. Niceness and smiles are free and I'd pay a thousand dollars for that.
