It is only open about 3 times a month and serves several Oak Park charities. It's located in an old victorian home. There are several different rooms that sell different types of items. The selection of items can be touch-and-go. I've noticed them trying to sell items that were broken or had bad stains or holes in them. Sometimes you can find some nice things. But you also have to watch prices, too. There have been times when I've looked at something, looked at the price and it was too high for what it was.
Here's the deal with the Economy Shop. It's a dozen charity-thrift stores under one roof and it's only open a couple of times a season. It takes place in a large house, and charities staff individual rooms full of wonderful things. Each one gets the proceeds from what they sell in their rooms. Lots of antiques, clothes, and often broken crap, but that's all part of the fun.
