The Salvation Army Thrift Store

When will Salvation Army step in and stop this family. It is terrible and a disgrace!!!!! Somebody please help!!!!

The main problem is that they have a family that runs it and they sell the "good" stuff to their "special" customers. UNFAIR!

HORRIBLE customer service! I go there at least once a month and an employee is ALWAYS arguing with a customer. Also, the main boss (white guy) thinks he is running a boutique. Remember you work for the people. One more thing, the place needs a cleaning!!!!

This thrift store is located right off of McCarter Hwy in Newark right near Newark Penn Station. It's a good store if you're looking for clothing, furniture, or books. Everything else, go to Goodwill in Harrison. Very limited selection of DVDs, CDs, and housewares; not a VHS tape in sight. I gave customer service a 2 because when I was there, the only cashier was talking loudly on her cell phone the whole time, including while checking people out. This created a very long line, which could be a problem if you're in a rush (luckily I wasn't). Overall this is a worthwhile stop. Quality is on par with Goodwill; higher than Unique Thrift. Prices seem to generally be better than both Unique and Goodwill.
