I went to this store when I first moved to town. The cat urine stench was so strong I couldn't catch my breath and my eyes watered. I'm an animal lover but won't go back. No bargain is worth that!
The Manager lady is one mean lady...I have heard her talk to customer when I was shopping there..She had MY STUFF IS GOLD attitude ..I encounter this once myself... THE PLACE STINKS because they also have kittens for adoption there as well... SALES can be good...
Hadn't been here for years, and was shocked by the smell. I know they house cats, but this is rudiculous. It almost knocked me over when I walked in. Can't be good for the animals either. Clean the litter boxes! The whole place has become a dirty, disorganized mess. This is terrible considering the cause is so worthwhile. Four Chicks and a Cat, right up the road, has a cat and usually a couple dogs ... It's clean, organized and doesn't reek, so it CAN be done. On the plus side, the gals working in the store were very nice. But I won't be back.
I've been to this store a lot of times. I've clean. What this organization does for animals in this community is amazing! It's more than anyone else is doing-they work their butts off to help animals and have this thrift store to try to help the rescue. We all ought to support it. It's easy to criticize but don't be so ridiculous! Many of the things sad are petty. Much can be overlooked (like people can wash things if they are bothered by them) based on how much this group does! my hats off to them!
I love this store but I mainly go to pet the cats. Some of the ladies that work there are very rude but the last couple of times I was there there was a very nice lady working. It does stink but, to me, that is to be expected. I've bought some clothes from there, of course they were stinky but after you wash them it's all good. It was hard to rate this store because I do love it because of the interaction with the cats but there are some bad eggs that work there and I can understand how the smell can be off putting. If you can deal with the smell, like cats, and can overlook some hateful old women then this place is pretty great.
The people who work there are very rude and not at all helpful. I brought in a large donation of several boxes of nice items, while the clerks watched me struggle with getting out of my car and into the store with them. Then they acted like they were doing me a favor by taking them. The store is smelly and dirty, and I have heard many stories that their profits aren't going to animal welfare but are helping to line someone's pockets!
This is not a "no-kill" organization. They turn pets away all the time. They say they don't have room, yet they bash shelters who are forced to accepts animals even though they don't have room. I commend them for trying to help animals, but if they turn any away-then they cannot call themselves no kill. This is a worthy dream though, and I hope the whole county can achieve it! As far as the store goes, it's a good location, but is very dirty and smelly. I wouldn't buy clothing there because when you get it home, it is stinky.
The previous review is a good reason not to shop at this store. If you "aren't an animal lover", shop somewhere else? Talk about alienating your clientele. I would have been happy to donate, but don't act like I owe it to you. The store is large with a variety of things, but the odor of animals has permeated the store. If you have allergies, beware. Parking is minimal and can be hazardous backing out.
This is a wonderful organization that helps animals and even if u dont go in to buy anything u should at least go in and donate to help the animals. Tennessee should be a No Kill state where animals are not murdered when they have no homes. so those who complained above should have just went to a different store if all they wanted was a shopping experience and arent animal lovers. The name of the store says it all. Plus imagine trying to keep it completey spick and span with all those animals, but at least someone is doing something to help.
