On "Dollar Days" the clothing is cheap ($1, obviously) but furniture is priced close to retail! And they refuse to break up sets, too. Rugs for $200 that cost that new; sofas for $150 and all in only fair condition. Sheesh.
This actually us eto eb my favorite Thrift Store in Huntsville. It seems lately all the employees seem concerned with is how dollar days have gotten out of control and one woman actually said ya'll are just getting to spoiled with dollar days. Im sorry, I didnt come up with the idea, ya'll did! And now that it has brought in business, you want to be rude to whoever comes in questioning why they are buying certain products.....
Asbury Thrift Store may not be the cleanest or best organized, but the hunt is part of the fun! They have the best pricing on clothing and most definately have the kindest and giving hearts of all of them!!! :)
I believe a thrift store should be very inexpensive. Asbury thinks more of themsevles than the people in need. Also, the employees have poor attitudes and I have had many bad experiences there. The prices are VERY high and there is no love for others and the community in the tone of those working there to help others. I've also been humiliated once by one employee holding a particular very nice item for my 5 yr old to see if it worked (while he stood beside me) and another employee, as we wondered around waiting for the battery to charge SOLD it to another. We discussed for a moment and they let the other customer have it as I cried, literally in front of many with my very disappointed son standing next to me. NO! I do not recommend this place. There are many more available that are cheaper and more friendly atmosphere.
I have found some good items here, but check out the clothing very carefully. Many items are in poor condition-paint stains, etc. Prices are not competitive with other, better thrift stores.
My first visit to this store left me extremely disappointed, and I almost wrote it off. After returning several times, it has become one of my favorite locations to stop for finding goods, as they have a great donation system. This is a store that everything is priced at checkout, or by finding an employee. I have found a couple of workers that are unfriendly, and price things extremely high. By the same token, I have had a pleasant visit with friendly staff and great deals on many occasions. As with most thrift stores, you just have to visit regularly to find the great deals.
Too greedy, more than most thrift stores. The place is very busy; the donaton flow is so big and fast that sometimes you can catch something before the workers do. A good program: dollar days (for clothing/shoes).
