This place improves every trip I make. I have seen every employee at the store turn away everyday shoppers from trying to get "special deals" and even (hush hush) employees of the Salvation Army (who don't work at the store) from shopping there in the middle of the day. There is a lot of pride these people put into their store. Proud to shop here and want to thank the people for picking up bread for us to get for free on Monday!
Having been to The Salvation Army- Family Store in major cities across the US, this one stands out. Their pricing defeats all competitors as it fits hand-in-hand with quality and the selection available. They are seemingly understaffed at all times, yet I have never had a problem getting something loaded or enjoying pleasant conversation with an employee. Compared to 3 years ago, this place has improved 10 fold. It's actually nice not to walk through and see all of the old manager's friends trying to steal deals from the back. It has to be because the last and current manager are completely onboard with what the organization is trying to do. Awesome store
I find this store to be hit or miss. Like going there for the books and housewares mostly. Occasionally I can find good clothing too. Prices are all over, sometimes good sometimes stupid crazy.
I have no idea what the other comments here are talking about. I go into this store EVERYDAY and their selection is awesome. Also, through the grapevine, they have been able to help more people in the community because of more competitive pricing. The kids section is low, but normally people just rotate clothing amongst a family for toddlers. Also, I'm not sure if you remember the store in question 3 or 4 years ago....but yeah, this place has surpassed that by far. I think you are bitter because you're not getting Carmen deals anymore.
Good daily deals (half off certain color tags, 50 cents for certain color tags, bag of certain color tags for 3.99 etc...). Quite a bit of furniture, lots of books, minimal to no toys and their kids clothes section is pretty small.
This store is on the edge between the college/hippy/business side of town and a rather poorer neighborhood. Clothing turn-over seems slower than elsewhere, and donations often seem low. They recently underwent a reorganization (rebranding?), raised their prices on most of the furniture, and largely stopped accepting coupons from the 'Best Deals in Town' flyer. This place used to be far and away the cheapest thrift store in town, and while their clothing still largely is, the gap is closing.
A little gritty but the prices are good. Its a bit of a mix match when it comes to quality of goods and I have notices a recent "antique" pricing increase in the $100 range which concerns me as this tends to herald the future decline of good pricing. But I still find good deals in there especially when there is a sale. One can hope for the best.
not really a 'clean' store, but this is a true thrift shop that keeps the spirit of thrift shopping. prices are rock cheap and selection varies from time to time. I like to look for vintage clothing and vases here and have found a few vintage clothes i am proud to wear. My bro even found very rare cd's by beach boys, etc.
This was a sad place the day I visited. Most of the people (but not all) I saw here really needed to shop there. The selection was really pitiful. There was no customer service. A sad store. I hope someone donates something good to them soon for their customers. God Bless them and their customers. I'm sure they do the best they can with what they have.
