I staetrd doing a ton of clearing out when my husband passed away and I discovered how hard it is to get rid of stuff! So I pretty much gave up. I know I need to get rid of sooooooooooo much, but it's hard to put forth the effort when I have to tackle it all and then PAY to get rid of things. I did donate 10 construction sized garbage bags of clothing to Big Brother/Big Sister and I thought that was a good start but I have tons more to go and just can't find the motivation to be bothered. Although I know in the long run it would be very good to de-clutter and get down to the basics, especially since I'm going to have to downsize to a small rental soon and there's no way all this junk can go with me.Maybe your experience will start to motivate me to do some work
