non-chain-type store that tried to fit into space available without paying high rent. church ladies volunteer to work there. usually have a sale going on seasonal clothes that started out at good prices. not stuff one would wear out clubbing or put on ebay for a profit, but stuff one would buy to replace work/church clothes.
