They receive good quality donations, but they do way too much of a mark up for a thrift shop. Some sweaters were $6.99. IT's getting ridiculous. That's what Goodwill has been doing for years ever since they changed their marketing campaign and much more popular. You can't find a pair of jeans for under $8. You can can get brand new jeans from a department store for that much and cheaper! Thrift shops are supposed to help the low income. Very rarely do I find bargains here anymore. It's sad, really.

I go to all Godwill's,but I make all donations to the Salvation Army ,the reason price, they help the poor , with good prices .I have seen men shirt price as high as $20.00 at the Goodwill, The best sale they have is, they give 25% discount on your birthday ,that is it.Boston Stores has better sale.They say they are a used items store,but they act like a new store. When it comes to pricing.That is why after each sale ,they say thanks for supporting the Goodwill,but the Goodwill does nothing to help the working poor people who help support them. Not even in these bad economic times with with high unemployment .You would think ,more than any other they would give back. That is a shame.

Their prices are getting absoultely ridiculous (purses sell for $10, no matter what size or what condition; shirts/blouses $4-$8, no matter what condition; furniture..... we're not even going there; collectables are priced as if they are a real antique store, etc). GW is now acting as if they are a high-end retail store. I plan on giving all my donations from now on to Salvation Army, St Vincent DePaul, etc (and trust me when I say, "I dontate a LOT of goods"). I will be doing my business at places that truly know "we're not made of money." Even more insulting, Goodwill doesn't mark down for broken furniture, stained or ripped clothing, etc. It doesn't seem to bother them that they are ripping us off. I sure wish they would go back to being a thrift store and quit acting like a "Boston Store" and the like. GW - you are loosing an excellent customer (I make the rounds, scanning from Milwaukee suburbs, to Fond du Lac up to Manitowoc and upper WI. I notice they are all alike with their prices. Maybe I'll be back - but at this rate, I doubt it.
